Andrew Herridge Artist and Designer . . . . .
25 years of watercolours, acrylic, textile and print
Original artworks expressing the emotion and practice of a working artist.
Time enjoyed over many years observing and representing a view on the world.
A practice evolved though thousands of everyday glances'
Influences include Hockney, Ravillious, Frost, Hepworth, Lanyon and McKnight-Kauffer.
When I paint a picture, create a collage or a make a print, the piece becomes a paradigm of time travel.
Observe a landscape; hills, trees on the skyline, mid-ground fields.
A village, people in the fore-ground. Those trees, in reality it would take 30 minutes to walk there.
Yet in your mind it takes a flash. In a sense, you see 30 minutes into the possible future.
Add colour, texture, line and your emotions and experiences complete the experience.
My art invites the observer to become a time traveller.

Surrounded by hills and fields, just inland of a lighthouse
on the Southern tip of the Island.
